First, thank you for a good day today: for being respectful, present, honoring, and compassionate. I’m proud to know you all. You might wish to mark the significance of this day in history by telling someone about the book you’re reading, posting on social media about the significance of January 27th 1945, or by finding some private/personal way to honor this occasion. (To be clear, this isn’t required for class.)
Second, if you didn’t get to see them in class, please look through the photos that were compiled in honor of the 70th Anniversary of the Auschwitz liberation, by clicking here.
Then, look through these photographs of Auschwitz taken at the time of the liberation (or before). Click “Next” to view each in sequence… keep going at least until you see the pictures of confiscated clothing. Come prepared Thursday to discuss what you saw, etc.
OPTIONAL EXTRA CREDIT: Write a poem about your experience viewing these photographs.
Third, read Night through p65. Come prepared Thursday to discuss the reading and to answer a couple questions about it!
